Dewey Lee Mullinax
Sr., Greenville Dewey L. Mullinax Sr., 72, of 12 Goodrich St., Greenville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Greenville in the Woodside Community, he was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and Army Reserve. He was a retired driver from W.R. Grace Co., a member of Recovery Masonic Lodge No. 31, and Hejaz Shrine Temple. He is survived by 10 children, Ronald L. Mullinax of Belton, Tony D. Mullinax of Panama City, Fla., L. Susan Mullinax of Williamston, Shelby J. Wacaster of Easley, and Cynthia Mullinax, D. Lee Mullinax, Donna L. Porter, June E. Garcia, Wesley S. Mullinax and Winston L. Mullinax, all of Greenville; four stepchildren, Michael Woodacre of Greenville, Charlene Howard of Greer, John McNiven of Wellford and Jeanine McNiven of Stevens City, Va.; 21 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Lockaby and Thelma Hinton, both of Augusta, Ga.; and one brother, H.E. Mullinax of Florence; and is predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Lee. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Greer. |
